Corneregel contains dexpanthenol 50 mg/g in a gel base. The gel forms a lasting protective film over the eye, easing irritation and discomfort during recovery rather than simply wetting the surface.

This is a recovery product, not a daily comfort drop. Eye pain, sudden vision change, light sensitivity or a possible injury need examining before anything is applied — some of those require onward referral rather than a gel. If you're unsure what you're dealing with, come in and let us look.

Questions

Will it blur my vision?

Yes, temporarily — the gel is thick by design. Don't drive or operate machinery until it clears.

Can I use it long-term like artificial tears?

It's intended for a defined recovery period rather than indefinite daily use. If you find you still need it after the expected recovery window, that's a sign something needs reassessing.

Can I wear contact lenses while using it?

No — lenses should stay out while the surface is recovering. We'll advise when it's safe to resume.

Is this preservative-free?

No. Unlike Cationorm, HYLO GEL and Blephaclean, this formulation is not preservative-free. If you need something for frequent long-term use, those are the better choices.
